In March on International Women’s Day the Chair was invited to attend the launch of ‘Faith in Gender Justice’ Exhibition at the Scottish Parliament. The exhibition showcases the role women from Scotland and around the world have played in challenging gender norms, breaking the silence and being messengers of hope.
Side by Side is a growing global movement of people of faith who want to see gender justice become a reality in the world. It emerged from the work of international development and faith based agencies on gender, acknowledging that gender inequality violates human rights and keeps people in poverty.
Side by side is keen to develop future projects with women and men from different organisations and faith communities. The Chair collaborated with the Side by Side organisers to discuss joint projects which could be taken forward and highlighted the Dignity of Women-Scriptural Reflections Exhibition.
